FAQ’s – Liver health and scans

Non alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is a condition whereby there is too much fat built up in the liver. If left untreated, it can progress to serious liver problems, diabetes, heart attacks and strokes. It can range from hepatic fat accumulation (steatosis) to steatohepatitis (fat accumulation with inflammation), fibrosis, cirrhosis, and end-stage liver disease.

A healthy liver is important for your long-term health. The liver plays a key role in many body functions including the processing of nutrients such as sugar, proteins and fats. It is also important in the detoxification of drugs and the making of substances for blood clotting. If you can identify early stages of liver inflammation e.g. due to having a fatty liver, you can work to help reverse the damage or prevent it getting worse.

Ultrasound scans can be useful in detecting top line changes in liver health however a FibroScan® is far superior, taking 10 readings, to identify liver scarring and an accurate fatty liver reading.

FAQ’s – de-liver-ance

The liver is one of the two organs in our body responsible for detoxifying our bloodstream besides our kidneys. If your liver is not working efficiently, it will fail in breaking down toxins, which will ultimately be eliminated from your body by other means like your skin. When excessive toxins build up in the deeper layers of the skin this causes skin problems like acne and breakouts. When the liver oxidative/antioxidative balance is disrupted, the state is termed oxidative stress. Oxidative stress leads to deleterious processes in the liver and produces liver diseases. Therefore, restoring antioxidants is essential to maintain homeostasis.  de-liver-ance is full of antioxidants, which help in protecting your liver cells from damage while they are detoxifying your bloodstream. Antioxidants also help to protect your skin cells from free radicals, which can help reduce the onset of premature aging. Since de-liver-ance supports the liver’s ability to detoxify and eliminate toxins from the body, it can have a positive impact on your skin and help in reducing skin problems and support the detoxification pathways in the liver.

Since your results are already in the healthy range and not borderline high, de-liver-ance will help in maintaining your score within this healthy range. Though we have seen from our customers that had normal healthy livers, that their CAP and stiffness scores have decreased and got closer to the lower end of the healthy range when they were taking de-liver-ance regularly.
